Elderly Woman Dies After Crashing into Light Pole in Wahiawa Crash
May 3, 2011 – Wahiawa, HI – A woman was pronounced dead after she crashed her car into a light pole in Wahiawa on Sunday, April 24, KHON2.com has reported. The Wahiawa crash occurred close to the intersection of Plum Street and California Avenue, and traffic bound for Mauka had to be rerouted. According to police, the 84-year-old woman who was driving a white vehicle slammed into the light pole, causing it to fall onto the lanes bound for Mauka. She was transported to a hospital and her condition was listed as critical, but she died shortly afterward. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, she was a resident of Wahiawa. Police have not been able to determine whether the woman had a medical condition that may have contributed to the accident, which is still being investigated, said David Nielsen, a Honolulu police lieutenant. Police said they don’t think speed or alcohol contributed to the fatal accident. If you have lost a loved one in a traffic accident, you should consult with a Honolulu accident lawyer, who can conduct an investigation and help determine whether someone else’s negligence contributed to the accident.
