Thomas M. Otake
Davis Levin Livingston is pleased to announce that Thomas M. Otake, one of Hawaii’s premier courtroom lawyers has joined the team at Davis Levin Livingston. Thomas has been practicing law in Hawaii for over a decade and has more than 75 jury trials. During this time, he has amassed an impressive jury trial record with noteworthy victories in both State and Federal Court.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Thomas graduated from Iolani High School in 1993, Pacific University in 1997, and the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law in 2001. Thomas was the recipient of the 2011 Extra Mile Award, given annually to an attorney in Hawaii who, “through his/her actions or deeds, demonstrates the dedication and commitment to go the ‘extra mile’ in representing or assisting a client in federal court.” He also was selected to serve on the faculty of the 2011 Hawaii State Bar Association’s Trial Academy where he assisted new attorneys with the development of their trial skills. Recently, Thomas was invited to serve a three year term as a delegate to Hawaii’s annual United States District Court Judicial Conference. Thomas is a former member of the board of directors for the Hawaii Alliance for Community Based Economic Development, and is a former member of the Kaimuki Neighborhood Board.
