Our Firm Wins Recognition as One of America’s Top Law Firms

Since 1993, Davis Levin Livingston has established a reputation for success in personal injury cases not only in our own Hawaii community, but across the entire nation. In recognition of that continued advocacy on behalf of injury victims, our firm was recently featured in an article by Bloomberg Businessweek!

The article, titled “Speaking for Those Without a Voice,” touches on some of the key factors involved in our successes over the years, particularly in the areas of medical malpractice, sexual abuse, birth injury, and commercial litigation. Because we only represent plaintiffs – and because our firm was founded on a shared commitment to civil rights and advocacy issues – we have created a culture where our attorneys can truly seek justice for their clients.

Quoting one of our founding partners Mark Davis, the article explains what makes our approach so unique:

“We go beyond the bounds of how cases are often valued, and we know through experience that we may return unprecedented results. Helping our clients win record-breaking awards is satisfying, but helping them get justice is even better.”

In addition to our emphasis on civil advocacy, Davis Levin Livingston stands apart because of our medical malpractice department, which is headed by a clinical nurse specialist and certified nurse educator, and includes another licensed nurse among our attorneys. By building and maintaining a network of top medical professionals and experts, our medical malpractice team has been able to secure powerful results for victims of injustice.

The article reviews some of our significant victories in court, including:

  • $15 million won in a vacuum extraction birth injury case;
  • $11 million won for failure to respond to fetal distress during a C-section;
  • $12.5 million won for the family of an infant who suffered prolonged oxygen deprivation; and
  • $80 million won for 32 victims of sexual and emotional abuse by a psychiatrist.

In addition to appearing in Bloomberg Businessweek, this most recent feature will also be appearing in other notable national magazines soon. At Davis Levin Livingston, we are honored to receive recognition from so many respected legal media and news sources, and we are grateful that this news coverage allows us to continue with our core mission: fighting for the rights of the voiceless.
